What is yoga? Yoga is is the practice of becoming fully present. It is a life science, an artful way to live. In today's society we spend inordinant periods of time multi-tasking and splitting our attention. Being neither HERE nor THERE. We have shifted from human BEINGS to humans DOING. The by product of this is an unfocused mind, stress and often health issues.
Yoga is the perfect antidote to this dilemma.
The practice of yoga includes many aspects. Physical asana (postures) are most familiar to westerners and serve to develop strength and stability and ease in the body. The mind and the body are not separate, however. Link asana to coordination and control of the breath (pranayama) and you further sharpen, still and focus the mind and gain insight into how our bodies work, and how our mind works.
With a clearer mind we’re able to see ourselves more objectively. Our habitual patterns of movement and thought become clearer. We learn to be more open and fully present in our daily lives. As a bonus, this has both a documentable affect on the autonomic nervous system, and a direct effect on relieving stress and it's potential health risks.
Classes at Corazone are taught in the traditional and authentic ways developed by the ancient yogis. These may include postures, breathing techniques, meditation, relaxation, sound (sometimes) and yogic philosophy. Classes are for all levels and but especially if you have never practiced, or have been intimidated by a class filled with nubile bendable athletes in the past.
The CoraZone is Yoga for Regular People, like YOU.
